Is there a such a thing as four bolt smoothies for the 69 sedan? Is 4x130mm right?

they call it a smoothy but it is the stoker with the slits... some companies made a smooty with a moon cap but they were at least 7 inches wide.... convert to wide 5.... 67 bug front brabes and thing rear drums... all wide 5 unless you want front disc brakes you would have to buy a kit and they won't work if you have dropped spindles

don't do the "thing" rear drums. They'll put your wheel out an extra inch on either side and you'll rub. Been there, done that. Run '66 rear drums and backing plates instead. My 0.02 cents.

could be true on a bug but thing drums work for me on my type3... just a suggestion....

you are correct.... the thing drums is the "easiest" way to do it (I did this at first). But once I lowered the rear a bit more, I rubbed the fenders. His car is lowered a good amount, so they won't work for him.

ETPEak....
couldn't you use early type3 drums on yours?

the cost of powder coating the wheels red, plus 4 whitewalls squashed this idea for now anyway. :(

I'll run the wheels I have now for a year then maybe next summer look into some original looking wheels.
