I hate to start another avatar thread but I read a bunch of threads and I'm still not getting it. I had one before and either I forgot how I did it or it's just not working this time.

Using a link to my pic or thumb in the gallery on this site or any other I get...

"A connection could not be made to the URL you gave"

?

Started a photobucket account and shrunk the pic for avatar use then copied the link which ends in .jpg and got this...

"The avatar filetype must be .jpg, .gif or .png"

...ummm, yea, no kidding, it IS a .jpg or at least it ends in .jpg.
I had an avatar before with zero problems using the link deal (if I remember correctly) and now, no matter what I do, I can't get anything to work. I can't even get my old avatar to work anymore. Has something changed or am i just showing my stupidity?

Nothing has changed.

Post the photobucket link here and I will check it out, provide feedback, and add it for you if necessary.

The link above is not an actual link to the photo, it's a link to the page that shows the photo with all the photobucket page content around it.

I did a right-click on your photo and a "copy image location" and got this:

That linked worked fine.
