I don't have my Bently book yet, but is there a hose that supposed to go down from the air filter to the hole in the bottom of the engine bay?
Is it supposed to connect to something other than the hose?
The heater exchanger, under the bay don't have any holes in them.
TIA |

There's supposed to be a preheat elbow down there, that picks up warm air from the engine to send into the air cleaner. A hose would connect that to your air cleaner.

I think that was for some emissions stuff that looks to be long gone.
What is missing: rubber grommet through the body for the reverse light switch wires to run through. Keeps them from getting cut and causing a short (lower right hand side of engine compartment) |

thanks for the look everyone, just got the bug and havn't done anything to it yet.
that one yellow wire is going behind the air filter up to the liciense plate light.
It looks like the pre. owner just layed things where they lay.
It's reg. as a 1969 but, but I am finding many things that say 1968(inside left pull for trunk and just a finger flip for outside gas fill) and I don't have any vin. numbers. I checked the tunnel and in the front by the spare tire, no plates. |

I don't see anything, everything is coated black, some kind of rustproofing I am guessing. I will check more, but the temps are in the 100's and it like an oven in the car.
In Arizona, they check all cars that are bein reg. in the state, fropm out of state, making sure nothing is coming from Mexico. My sister sent me the car from NY, I just had to pay the shipping. When I couldn't find the vin numbers to match her NY reg. I almost died, but when the inspector look, he just nodded and pass it. Maybe it was my wife smile or maybe it was too hot for him to check out, but glad that is done. |
