i used a thin paintable undercoating
rockshoot or something like that.
once painted body colour you tend not to notice it

i think it looks pretty good so far

Rockguard? Some people think the black undercoating looks good behind the tires, especially on light colored cars. So you don't see the car color in the fenderwell. I can take it or leave it.

I agree!! Lets the wheel/tire stand out!
If it is a driver... undercoat that sucka!!
On some of the Hotrods we do we have the backside of the fenders sprayed with bedliner @ our local Line-X!! That way there is no chance of catching a rock and putting a star in the paint!

thats what i did the quarter panels are all body worked and painted.

Looks good to me, I think the undercoating is deifnatly a good thing if its a driver.

Do you mean Stoneguard? It was made by Spies Hecker, I have it on my '57. Thin, not globby looking stuff.
