Do i have to change anything in the back to fit the type 4 into it?

All you have to do is convert the Type 4 engine to upright cooling (which you can see what's involved here: http://www.tunacan.net/t4/howto/starting/ ) and it'll slip right in with no changes to the body. :)
Check out my site sometime to learn more about the Type 4 engine and converting it for use in a Bug:
