So apparently, a wax museum in Germany called Madame Tussauds installed a figure of Hitler posed in a chair during his final days in the Führerbunker and only minutes after opening, a guy in his 40s tore his head off.
Why do I find this amusing ?

Exactly. "Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it" is the exact problem that I see with this stupid repression of all things Nazi. I also feel that that most of the "allure" of Naziism and skinhead culture stems directly from the "forbidden fruit" approach that we take as far as Nazi history and philosophy is concerned. Sweep it under the rug, and whisper about it.
People need to know what Naziism was, and why it cannot work. |

| He should be taken to jail and prosecuted. In Hitler's Germany he would of been dragged into the streets and shot. |

Or a Jew, or a Gypsy, or a homosexual or one of a dozen other "non Arian" enemies of the state.
(sorry... i'll get off my soap box). |

my family came from Germany after WW2. doesn't make me a Nazi, but it is part of my history unfortunately.
people need to embrace history. it is very important not to repeat the mistakes of the past.
Since 1927, TIME Magazine has chosen a man of the year, "Adolf Hitler, the leader of Nazi Germany, received the honor in 1938"
boy, was they wrong!
trams quote is one of my favorites. |

I'm sure the Nazi's did a lot of good during the 30s and 40s.
I'll spare you the graphic pictures, but those shoes didn't walk themselves into the camps.

Why? I'd give this guy a medal. He did the right thing, and if they ever reattach his head, I hope it happens again and again, until theres nothing left. Destruction of property my ass. They should have seen it coming. They should have put it behind bullet proof glass if it was so important. |

I knew something like this was going to happen when I first heard they were going to wax him up. It'll happen again and again. People have a visceral hate for the man, rightfuly so. He was an evil man.
But I agree that it's good to have him there to teach the new generations the horrors and evils than he and the Nazi's did. If we turn a blind eye to the past then not only are we doomed to repeat it but the memories of those that died in the slaughter are lost. If we don't remember the victims then we too are damning them to obliteration. The germans should be taught of the evils of hitler, the russians the evils of Stalin and Lenin, and the Japanese the evils done to the chinese during WWII. And we too must remember our history speckled as it is.
The lesson we learn from hitler is that we mustn't allow any individual or group of individuals "lead us to the promissed land" no matter how painful our current circumstances or how beautiful their words. Don't let anyone do your thinking for you and don't let anyone get more powerful than the collective dissenters of the nation. |

Who are you to speak about me being an asshole. I said hitler was a genuis for the fact that he made people think a different way, Not along any of the lines hey thought of. He brain washed these people into beliving that he was doing things for the good.. when he was only going to kill them. That was my point. Think about it, he brainwash millions of people into believing he was god. How would you do that without thinking everything out and being able to commit and persuade |
