Hi, I have been looking for this sticker. Do you know where I can get it?
Its on the dash of my 75 westy. Its printed on silver metallic sticker which is the same type thats used for the big sticker found by the back seat near the vent window. The rear big sticker is on ebay but not the little one which is odd. Its starting to get a bit beat up especially now that I have a decent radio. I keep resting my hand on it when I tune the radio. I would like to replace it and have a few spares as well. |

It came up on a thread a little while ago and was determined that it came on some campers, did you search Karl?

You don't have 5 seconds to type in "pop top"?

This decal (of which I was previously unaware) might be a useful reminder, but I suspect that my roof-up warning system, linked to the retrofitted gas springs, of my 1973 VW Type 2 Westfalia Continental's elevating roof, are more fool-proof! 8)
Here's another interesting decal for minimum petrol-octane rating, but as you folks in the USA, don't seem to use RON any more, but rather RON + MON)/2, it's of doubtful value.

I've never come across an exterior motorhome decal before! what is it's purpose?

The motorhome decal is for new or dealer sold used vehicles with propane systems installed, proof of compliance and inspection.
How about that? even in the untamed colonies there are a few rules  |

Except now anyone can buy this sticker and it will appear to the 16yr old manning the propane refill station that the attached tank is in compliance.
I'm ordering one today. :D |

| Well... if he's to stupid to look for the test date on the tank then, yes. |

| Even a 16-year-old will see that it is lacking the proper new-fangled valves. |

Of course he would also know then that the OPD valves aren't required on motorhomes. |

| I've replaced all the valves, regulator and the rubber hose to the other side of the bus and it still doesn't matter. It's still hit and miss. |

Do you really need this reminder? even if it's "original"? For example, why leave the flashy advertisement stickers on new products, like this laptop? If anything they will discolor the area underneath, slowly peel from a corner and get uglier for years as in your case, so when it does eventually fall off, the spot looks bad, then adhesives get dirty, and that dirt can act as an abrasive on the surface.
There's so many bumper stickers, shirts, signs, ads, etc in the world that have some useless message that I don't pay attention anymore. Heck I even mute the TV when the commercials are on.
I'm in favor of going sticker free, especially on the dash, keeps things looking uncluttered and undamaged. Anyway, do what makes you happy, just my 2 cents!

The decal shown on wolfsburg west is almost exact. Yet the black decal on Decals Only would also look good on the dash too. Hmm decisions, decisions.
As far as peeling it off and leaving it off, I think after being on there for 33 years, no matter how many times I'd clean that spot you would always be able to tell there was a sticker there. I'll just slap a new one on there. Plus I like to have my passengers learn a little German while they ride.
Thanks everyone for the links and replies. This is exactly what I was looking for. |
