| Does it have a VIN? That might take the guesswork out of this exercise. |

| Obviously it's a 911 base, but could be a 930 because of the flairs. The flairs could also of been added. |

| Not a 930, flairs are way too small. With the dash speaker hole I'd say it's an early car, longhood. |

| It's a '65 to '68 short wheelbase 911 shell, with added wheelwell flares. |

Yes, I noticed this too. I'm starting to think 912 on a VW pan. |

| The pans could've been replaced. Maybe a 912? |

| No wonder this forum is a wealth of misinformation. People anonymously responding with guesses coming from who knows where. Ok let's dissect this thing using evidence, compared with actual fact. Dashboard and engine compartment layout and tail light housings dictate that this BODY most likely started life as a 66 to 68 911 that has been converted to a short hood, fat bumper 74+ style. Really cool fender flares have been added with cuts that are perpendicular to the radius, unlike any factory flares that i have seen. Floor pans are clearly nothing like Porsche stampings. They appear to be some sort of VW pattern. Which one i am not sure, as i am not an authority on VW pans. This coupled with CLEARLY VW trans mounting "horns", something that Porsche never used on any car including 356, indicate that the body has been mated to a VW chassis, or parts thereof. This is a great looking project with excellent potential that seems to be getting good quality work. 930? 911R? Come on. Do the folks who ask legitimate questions a favor and respond to topics that you really know about. Nobody needs bad advice. Peace |

Jacks, are you serious? Most of those responses were tongue in cheek, if you couldn't tell? Yes, the SWB body appears to have VW pans and frame horns attached for some reason, you are correct. And it actually looks like a biatch of a project to me, because all that crappy work would have to be undone, meaning, the out of place flares and the pan and frame horn catastrophes.
I have a '68 911, so I know a bit about them....
Over and out. |

I gotta agree, we were all goofing around. My 911R was a joke since the car is obviously not an original factory car.
Jack, this is just another example of not being able to to see the wink or smile on the poster's face over the internet.
Next time i'll add a ;) |
