I found the excellent threads on sticky locks. But I don't think my door issue is the spring. I took the panel off tonight, blew away dirt, and sprayed all moving parts with lubricant.
I recently acquired the bus and needed to do that anyway. After all the cleaning and lubing I would trip the latch just like the door was closed. I'd put the key in and unlock just fine. But with a speaker wire still connected and the panel in the way I didn't close the door and try the lock.
I put everything back together and shut the door and locked. Now the lock won't budge again.
So it seems the panel is too heavily padded and not allowing the arm to slide back and forth underneath. The door seems perfectly aligned with opening and shutting so I don't think it could be latch placement.
Anyone experienced the same thing? |
