Hi. I am going to have to replace my doghouse fan because some of its fins are damaged (by what, I do not know). My beetle has a 1776 motor with dual carbs. I have seen that a 39mm fan for higher performance engines is available. My question is whether or not I should spend the extra money for one, considering my fan might have not held up under freeway speeds.
Also, are there reasons I should NOT go with a 39mm fan? Will I have to alter my alternator and/or pulley spacing if I get one? I do not mind spending a few extra bucks if there is a benefit to using it.
Thanks

| Go with a Berg welded fan if you want a fool proof non exploding fan. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. I dont see why a 39mm wouldnt work for you and with a 1776 you probably want to get as much air as possible. |
