Ok..I am installing a Dakota Digital gauge on my 81' AC vanagon.
I know the sender is supposed to be under the spark plug. But i'm afraid everytime i pull the spark plug it will be a hassle.
Can the sender be mounted with acceptable results under the nut on the head stud?
Does anybody have pictures of their install? Wherever it was on the engine....
Forgive me if this has been covered before. I tried the search first. |

Install it under the spark plug or don't do it at all. It is bit "fussy" to do with the engine in there, but it can be done with some patience.
Been here?

I'm working on a longblock. Nothing at all is on it yet. I figured now is as good a time as any to install it.
Ok then i'll install it under the sparkplug.
Thanks. |

| It took me about 40 minutes (with the engine on my bench) using my dremel tool with a couple of bits from Lowes to make it all nice in there. I secured the sending wire to the fins using a modified door upholstery clip and it worked well. |
