Just checking....I am converting a 65 to 12 volt. I dont need a headlight relay since my dimmer switch is on the floor correct?

I don't think you need it, I have a 65 and it was already converted when I got it, but I'm pretty sure I don't have a relay for the headlamps

You're good. Relays started in '66.

with 12 volts the current(amps)is half what it would be on 6 volt,so the switch will be happy the way it is now;no relay needed

I think the issue wasn't whether the old relay would carry current, but if it HAS a relay, which would have to be changed to a 12V relay to not burn out.
