Are they stock lights? Square or rounds?
Do you have relays? If so, where are they mounted and are they full of water? |

Did you check all 4 fuses?
What happens when you pull back on the dimmer switch arm? |

Headlight switch may have bit the dust. VW routed the "power" (12 volts to headlights) via the headlight switch. Most folks these days install two relays: one for the low beams, and the other for high beams. The light switch is then used as the "trigger" to the lowbeam headlight relay, which gets it's 12 volts from a "direct" battery feed you wire to it via the fuse panel.
If anyone plans to install brigher wattage headlamps, installing relays is a must do, otherwise you'd be sure to fry the stock headlight switch. |
