Very nice picture! - really, about the only variable is the shape of those overriders surrounding the backup lights!

late short pigtail 67 backup light on left with . early 67 had long wire like the one on right(tho it is cut short. notice the 2 style of nuts to hold light to bracket. the brackets are also stamped L for left and R for right side mounting. Kent,Henry and air cooled (richard m.) know this also i hope.

Damn Bill, for a Janitor you sure flashback to 1967 a lot!

So which one did I go and mangle when I turned it from a backup light to a license plate light for my Baja bug?

To be clear, Bill, you're talking about the lights in this photo, not the ones pictured on my car...

that is late 67 light. short pigtail and the hold down nut is not just a hex nut.

Correct. If you would have bothered to read all of my posts you would discovered that I already addressed this - I think it was around 2005

Seriously, though, I have the proper red lenses, but I like the brighter amber turn signal lenses. They are a lot more visible in the bright Florida sun, and since the average age of people driving in Pinellas county is 112, I need all the help I can get :D
