Hello-

I want to flip my tie tod ends so I can minimize bump steer. I purchased the only bump steer bushings I could find (they're from Bug Pack, and require the use of a 68' and later tie rod end.) Then I received a little surprise. I knew that I would have to open the hole in my LP sindles, but holy &^%$, I didn't realize how much I would have to open it up! My machinist's recomendation is to try the spindles as is, and flip the tie rods only if needed. Are there solutions that don't require drilling as big a hole in my spindles? Are my concerns valid?

Thanks,

Paul

Did you try to ream the spindles out? Instead of drilling a hole all the way through the spindle just ream the spindle just enough so the tie rod fits correctly.

What kind of spindles are you running? My lowering spindles from cip1 didn't need flipped tie rods.

Hello-

They're stock link pin spindles. My understanding is that all stock spindles require modification, but the ball joint spindles have quite a bit more metal around the hole.

Thanks,

Paul

If there tie rods are binding on the car, just buy a reamer from KCW or off the Snap-On truck and use a air rachet and ream the stock spindles. Set the reamer in the stock position and mark the depth with a sharpee and pull it out and ream it from the other side. Stop when you get down to the mark.

you can use a die grinder to if you dont have a reamer. only takes a few seconds.
