Finally caught one! A rare sight in this neck of the woods. On the route into town to run some errands. Sorry for the lousy quality, I only had my phone.

Bend is definitely bus town... rarely a day goes by that I don't see one.

Here are a few more I've seen over the past few weeks:

This one is my favorite. It's shot from my desk. Up rolls this early bay and out steps my buddy Bob (aka Capt Sawdust). It's a '68 hardtop camper. The coconut tree was there when he bought it and the Hawaiian interior motif suits Bob, who lived over there for years - scuba diving with Jerry and other members of the Dead back in the day. He is a wizard with wood and makes some amazing longboards, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, etc. Even made me a custom 5' skateboard this summer. Here is his website http://www.captsawdust.com/

I went up to Vt 3 weeks ago to look at that blue bay . It is an auto with a tosted motor. Went up last weekend and picked up a adventure wagon top. I want to take my trailer up and bring the bay home but the guy wouldn't take my offer.

I didn't even know it was for sale. I just saw it for the first time on a route I make several times a week. I was in a hurry so I jstopped to snap a few pics. The body appears to be fairly decent and the interior looks like some of it might be salvageable. I was so shocked by seeing one I forgot to give it a good looking over!

Been meaning to get a pic of this one for a while. It's pretty close to my office and I was out in my bus today so I drove by and took a pic :D

I got to see this one everyday, but it has been sold and if I remember right it's on it's was out of the country. A pity.

Yeah, my office is in Sugarhouse so I saw this one around quite a bit near the Whole Foods. I had no idea it was for sale. Bummer if it leaves the country :(

Saw this one at Badger Pass in Yosemite.

Talked with the owner who told me it was a '78 all basically original.

I saw a Bay at Home Depot today; drove by to check it out and noticed something strange going on down below... there seemed to be some extra plating or something below the cargo area. So I went to take a closer look (I wasn't too worried - there were Dead stickers on the Bus and I happened to be playing a bootleg in my truck) and it turns out someone had lowered the entire cargo area of the Bus about 8 inches. They must have really needed to get something tall loaded inside. The metal work underneath seemed pretty substantial.

I clicked a photo on my phone -

Wheelchair lift maybe?

Wow that is crazy! Wonder what they did about that pesky frame running through there?

This one was captured at Trolley Square.

I saw these two today within minutes of each other.

There was a nice white over beige bay with tinted windows parked by school all day. I think some stoner with rich parents owns it. Oh well, looks nice. I think it's a '78.

mackmix wrote: Yea theizzardking great idea for a sticky “bays I saw today” I think it would be good with a few rules IMHO.
All pictures should be taken in the same day.
Only one picture of one bus per person (not the same buses every day)
And maybe just street pictures rather than show pictures cause you know there will be 30 pictures of the same 1968 pristine all original show winner.
Oh and BAYS ONLY :D
It would be like a photo registry. Anyhow here are a few I saw today on and around the 101 Cheers all

Carlsbad Pipelines. Apparently my bus has been there. :bay_red:
