Hi Guys,
Pretty simple question, I just want to confirm what type of carb this is fitted to my car.
Car is a 56 fitted with a later 40HP engine.
Here is a photo.

| Hell that's a 1300 not a 40 hp It must have a 30 Pict 1. |

Really?
I was told when I bought it that the car had a 40HP fitted. Had just trusted the previous owners description of the motor so I never had checked.

In looking at this image:
And comparing that to my car, mine matches seems to match the second. The pipe comes away and towards the rear of the car. It does not sit close.

It seems I have a 1500cc 53HP from 66/67? |

The carb reads 30 PICT 1.
Just checked then, my camera is not good enough to get a decent photo, but it clearly reads

| Weird.. I can't see the return spring boss on the top, nor does the throttle arm have it from what I can tell.. hence the return spring going to the shroud or whatever. Maybe it is a mix of two.. the tops are interchangeable. |

Some of the earliest 30 pict 1 were not set up with the "late style return spring" (I have a bunch of them) the code is on the bowl not the flange... VW 47-1
Seen on the chart here... posted by glutamodo many times.
