Hi again! Now that I about have my 40h running smoother a new issue may have popped up.

Yesterday on my way home I noticed that what I think is my trans started to "Click" when I start of in first. Some times I hear it when I switch to 2nd and slightly on 3rd on occasion. It's Not hella loud, sometimes louder than other depending on how hard I let off the clutch, i.e. on an incline with the A-Hole parked up my a$$. Best described noise i guess would be a hammer lightly hitting the trans?? Any ideas were I should start checking or start saving for a new trans :? you can hear it in the short video, not the best quality I am sorry for that, you can actually hear it twice almost back to back as I almost ran over a cop.
Also, forgot to mention it is a 64' Baja.

Of course you help and expertise is always appreciated.

Have you checked the fluid level lately????

OK sirs. Got home and checked fluid, Stupid me, Fluids was all of 2 cups drained!!! I refiled trans with fresh oil ( 80/90). Also, went around and checked for loose nuts (no pun) and what not, and I did find that this one was very loose, I got about 4-5 turns to get it tight. ( see pic)

Needless to say I took it for a test drive, and it still does the same thing, yet I can almost say it is not as loud or noticeable as before.. Being my dumb ass who didn't check the fluid level in the trans after I bought it, and assumed it was good because it wasn't leaking, should I start looking for a new trans now or maybe something else ??

Is this the are of the " nose cone"?

BTW. NICE FREAKIN BUG craigman!!!!

Thanks for the compliment on my bug. I miss it...
That is the front nose cone mount in your pic. The very front of the tranny that bolts to that mount is the nose cone.
To check it, try to push the front of the tranny up and down.
Hopefully you just have some loose bolts. Double check them!
Good luck!
Craig

Craigman, That was it. tightened the others up a good half to 3/4 turn, and took her for a spin. No more clicking! :P Most likely the last time it'll ever be that easy of a problem to fix.

Just wanted to say thanks again, and good call!
