it doesn't shift into 3rd or seems like it's shifting, but doesn't actually engage 3rd gear (stays in neutral)?
If you can try to shift tranny by hand directly at the nose cone. (counter clock-wise turn and pull)

| my shifter has a reverse lock out button and i can feel it wanting to grind when im trying to go into 2nd. its trying to got into reverse without pushing the lockout button. the shifter is not set right i already know that i can feel binding going into all gears exept 3rd there is nothing it will fall right into its spot in the shifter i would expect a grinding noise or something. if i put it to 3rd and it stays in neutral. im gonna pull off the adapter coupler and try shifting it there, its a pain in the butt to get to seat and such in the way but gotta try it. |

Take the shift rod loose and shift it by hand.
Leave the coupler attached, rotate the input shaft CW when you are facing the input shaft head on then push it in.
That should be 3rd.
If it doesn't work with the tube unhooked, 3rd is out.
If so my guess is a spun synchro hub. |
