| a guy told me the other day that most of these trucks didn't come from the factory with the hoops and canvas and most rigs running around with them didn't come that way. my "M" plate says my truck came with it. anyone know if this option was common or not? |

I've seen quite a few with the tilt on the M plate (had a few myself but never the tilt), after the canvas died of exposure or they drove into somehwere low most got ditched.
What brand of bolts are in the holes in your deck? |

holy cow. i guess if you want original someone would notice. course if i wanted original i would have to completely repaint and redo interior as well. this was supposed to have a beige interior. does that mean just door panels or were the seats also beige?
but back to the bolts -how do you tell? |

| Clean up the heads, if they say Kamax or another VW brand that escapes me at this time theres a good chance your truck never had them removed to install the tilt. If they are blank or a non VW spec bolt someone may have installed them later to fill the holes after the tilt was gone. |
