since i have already put in a new engine, i am looking at taking care of that rust, and i want to knock the paint, window, and body seals in the same session. I already know what the seals will run me, but does anyone have an estimation or slight idea of how much the rust repair will run?
i have narrowed it down to mainly the doglegs, rocker panels, door panels, some spots under the windshield, behind one headlight, and the rest looks like surface rust that can be buffed out. i already have the replacement rocker panels and the driver's side door panel.
i don't know if anyone can even actually estimate this, but i just need an idea of how much i should save up for.
thanks |

| Its really hard to say without seeing pictures. It doesnt sound like its going to be cheap. I say learn to weld and do it yourself after doing LOTS of reading and research. That will save you some $$$ but it still doesnt sound like it will be cheap. |

Someone around here had one done recently at a good shop that knows busses and rust, it took 90+ hours of welding (pretty good looking bus to begin with), no bodywork or paint, just cutting and fitting and welding.
Call around to your local body shops and find out what their hourly rate is for rust repair, you may find a welding/autobody course at the local college and a welder are in your future. |

| it may be cheaper to just buy a clean bus if you dont work on it yourself. |
