Yes, I said that above. :)
For reference:

There are also small cosmetic changes made to the 1500 bus air cleaners, in addition to the left side/right side thing.
I have not got pics, but I noticed this when sorting through my air cleaners.
Also there are two sizes, I mean the tops form one style will not fit the bottom from another... this is in addition to some cosmetic issues.
Oh, one thing is the intake air flap. One some (later?) the flap is held in at the opening side. But on others the groove is underneath. This would be better with pictures, sorry.
But, I don't think anyone will point and laught that you have the wrong version of the 1500 air cleaner in there, unless we raise aircleaner awareness to a new level. :P 8) |

I have an air cleaner like that on my '61:
Both of those ^^^ have the wrong bolt at the carb.
Mine does have the correct clip to hold the pre-heat tube to the air cleaner.
Here is a 1500 left air cleaner in a '63, with correct left air cleaner and tube on top of carb, with the correct bolt at the carb.
The correct bolt is easier to use, it has a shoulder and you can use a 10mm socket or a screwdriver. The nut is square and is sized to keep from turning, so only one tool is needed.
For some reason, they are missing often.
I have been taking them off 40hp bug air cleaners and fitting them on my buses. |

Fwiw if you very delicately grind away the weld at the carb-elbow and remove the straight part then what is left is a perfect "lefty". I've done this a few times. |

| Also in the Bentley for '63 to '67 in section K-2 page 15 it shows a lefty going righty for an Eberspacher set-up. |
