Just wanted to share my experience:
I am pretty new to VW Bugs and just got a 63 ragtop. It needs some work. I redid the interior and now work on the mechanical things ( I know, I know it should have been the other way around). All the tin is pretty much missing. Since there are multiple variations and I do not have the stock engine, I had no idea what to get/to order. I called a few places and unfortunately found out that arrogance is somewhat common. Finely I talked to someone at Powerhaus in Torrance, CA (found a parts ad here on the Samba). They took time to listen and explain. Not only did they look at my bug to make sure I get the right pieces at a very good price. They also took me into the garage and gave me tips (showed me on another car where to install the fuel filter and how I can take the engine out - order of unbolting etc.).
Thx guys ! That was great. I like to go to a place where people care not only about their profit. |
