Glad to see you are doing all your own work to your bus.
The first thing you need to do is to buy a Bently Workshop manuel for your bus. It will set you back 75 bucks, but it's absolutly necessory. It has all the info you need for an engine overhaul.

Also buy a copy of John Muir's "How to keep you Volkswagen alive for the Compleat Idiot"
This is the original counter culture how to book. Keep in mind, This book was written nearly 40 years ago and a few things are different.
But Muir is really getting a beginner into the right frame of mind and understanding how things work.
And the book is really cheap. You often see them on Ebay for $10 or so.
the Bentley is a good book, but it assumes that you already know a lot about automotive repair work.
You should get them both
Air cooled VW had stronger bottom ends than top ends. A full overhaul would be nice, but is often not necessary.
Some of this work is beyond most home mechanics.
You will need to send the heads out for machine work, as well as the the crank case to be line bored. If they need it, the crankshaft and rods can be reconditioned by a good automotive machine shop and would be better than original specification.
Where do you live? What part of the the country; what country, too, I guess.

EDIT: I see, Phillipines. You probably have some good machine shops local to you.
It is a by-product of the affluence of the USA, that our olt time repair shops can no longer make a living. Thus there is no longer a good place to get your crankshaft ground in your own town anymore. I have to go 50-100 miles to find a good shop.
You might try asking local hot rodders or racers who they use. Or people that fix industrial equipment or trucks also use shops like that.
