My wife found the website for that concept car. They have animations about how all that stuff works. It is really incredible.

about how they would like it to work, more likely. Let's see them build a prototype that actually functions and is road worthy, and doesn't cost $100,000.

Shelving on the door that you have to fold up to close the door? ????

True. Still fun to look at. I'd like to see the remote control that operates all of that...it would have to be remote controlled, right?

The website says it is suppose to run $70K, but how I don't even see how the top would actually work.

Outside magazine - September 2008 page 76:

BACK ON THE BUS Montreal industrial designer Alexandre Verdier resurrects theclassic Volkswagen Westfalia microbus with the Verdier Solar Power, a 32-mpg-rated gas/diesel hybrid with solar panels that track the sun via GPS. Get on the waiting listnow - 2009 models are already spoken for. $119,000 as pictured (est.); verdier.ca

They should mate up with GoWesty. They should easily be able to sell a brand new one for just a pittance above a rehabbed one for $90K.

That's been kicking around for a long time. I always saw it as an entertaining design study, and in that light it's pretty fun and a nice display of what you can do with CAD. But half of the stuff that flips and folds out of the thing doesn't even exist until it magically appears. Meaning it's impossible to build the thing anything like it is conceived. Which makes it somewhat cruel that they are claiming they will build them, and sadly some suckers have probably already ponied up fat deposits.

Dig the sexy muzik, tho.
