Living on Cape Cod is sort of like living in "last month"...
I'll look for the movie somewhere online.. or something. |

I'll squeeze in her for a minute to ask if anybody has a set of front seats with arm rests. My DoKa came with good old plain seats with no place to rest your arms. They don't have to be in good shape. I'll have to re-skin them to match the cloth I have now on my old seats.
Now back to the Bus Movie.

Chris Forrest in Scotland UK is selling this Atlantic.
If it could float across the Atlantic I would buy it. :)

I would buy a matching set of new Recarro's for that beauty if I were you and never look back. Subsidize the shipping of the new, very expensive but worth it Recarro's, with the money made selling yours on CL locally. Start out by buying one and find a local armrest one for the passenger. Eric has a Recarro seat on his Jadgwagen that you could test out. I think North-Westy and GoWesty sell the seats, but, you may be able to save quite a bit shopping around for used if you want to recover them anyway.
Just my two cents from someone who will forever lust for a Syncro16"Doka.

Thanks Eric,
Let me know when I can stop by. I'll be getting ready to do the seats soon.
The DoKa is coming along. I should be able to test drive it in about a month.

Headed to Salishan Lodge this weekend for the Oregon Coast Exotic Car Show, www.ocecs.com , or, www.facebook.com/ocecs , and I decided to put some new meats on the '57 Scab. Would love it if some more of you could come down this Saturday to cheer me on, maybe even enter the show with a Vanagon Westy(mine is nowhere near ready for such an event, yet). Dustin, Jahbah~D, and his wife are coming down for the day, possibly night. I am staying at Salishan and being a pampered lush for the weekend. This is the first car show that my wife agreed to go to, so, I had to get a room  Rooms are discounted at $119 a night +tax = $131. Lots of great cars to look at and an absolutely stunning location. Come join us!
Here are some pics of Floyd with his new shoes for your viewing pleasure as some of you guys do not frequent the split bus forum. For the record, there are vanagon reflections in the paint of the SCab
They are as quiet as the tires I had on there before....Really cannot notice any difference in the interior sound, I do have yet to drive on the freeway though... The tires are really soft rubber, super grippy and that may be why they are so quiet.
New Shoes. I just love these things! Stock Nazi's gonna hate on me, but, so be it :P
WOOOOOOT!

Well hello there. I remember meeting some of you last year, December I think it was. I am the person that bought the blue Westy for $500.00. I would love to meet up with you folks again. Name the time and place.

My big@$$ vacation request got approved (Aug 4th-Sept 3rd), so I'll be going from MN -> PDX -> Vancouver -> MN if I can swing it.
That does mean I should be able to make to Mogfest, and be around PDX from roughly Aug 13 to Aug 19 or 20. Can't get more specific than that yet, but I'll be around :)
Look for a trip planning thread in the next day or two! |

It was a great show, a bit rainy for 2 1 hour periods, but, the warmth of the fine autos was more than enough to make up for a little rain.
We need to represent with a couple Syncro's and Westfalia's next year. It is a great event for the whole family and there were just two VW's at the entire event. |

This is what I love about the samba and our PDX crew....
I saw this post at 7am, sent email to the CL ad and spoke to John...
It was ClimberJohn's ad! I was very pleased to meet another member and John was glad to see it go to another Westy owner.
I have a good friend at Dometic, and he got me the correct awning brackets so I didn't have to drill into the van. Very pleased with it. Here's some good shots for your Tuesday evening pleasure. Cheers
the rag is too soak up some cleaner I had on it.

Welchmaster,
Wowzer, that looks great! I am glad you got the right brackets. I wish you many shady campspots with that awning.
Congrats,

Hey there PDX'ers!
So I've finally got my act togeather, its summer the vans running like a top and there is some free time. Lets do a get togeather! I've been brainstorming about getting a group togeather in Mcminnville where I live. I want to start it off with a BANG! I would like to have anyone interested to come on down to Dundee to Argyle winery (where I work) and taste some wine or (drink some beer) and tour the winery(if interested). We make bubbly and still wine so there is some cool stuff to see and learn, PLUS I'm thinking I can get 20+ vans and buses down here. We have a core crew of seven from down here and I wanted to invite the surly PDX crew down to kick it off! I'm thinking the 22st of july for burgers and dogs plus pot luck amendments for lunch time, hang out, winery walk around. More details to come, but set aside the afternoon and comedown and hangout. Maybe you y'all can figure out a group parade down? Cheers WHO-HOO! |
