Jahbah,

While this sounds like a fine plan, I have some previous camping plans that weekend and will thus choose to pass on your meet up. I hope you can get a good crew together.

So I've finally got my act togeather, its summer the vans running like a top and there is some free time. Lets do a get togeather! I've been brainstorming about getting a group togeather in Mcminnville where I live. I want to start it off with a BANG! I would like to have anyone interested to come on down to Dundee to Argyle winery (where I work) and taste some wine or (drink some beer) and tour the winery(if interested). We make bubbly and still wine so there is some cool stuff to see and learn, PLUS I'm thinking I can get 20+ vans and buses down here. We have a core crew of seven from down here and I wanted to invite the surly PDX crew down to kick it off! I'm thinking the 22st of july for burgers and dogs plus pot luck amendments for lunch time, hang out, winery walk around. More details to come, but set aside the afternoon and comedown and hangout. Maybe you y'all can figure out a group parade down? Cheers WHO-HOO!

Same here Jahbah,
My truck is still on the surgery table.
Here is an item I can use if anybody locally has a couple laying around.
I was told that this license plate bulb cover is used on the MK1 or MK2 golfs and Rabbits.
Thanks
Tony

Those shouldn't be too hard to find at one of the local pick-and-pull yards. Check the Audi's also (4000/5000/80/90/100/200), some of them have a lens that fits and works the same but directs the more light onto the plate .. and they look "cool" too.

So I've finally got my act togeather...

So, Dustin, you sure about that

Folks. Jahbah~D is hooking the clan up here ROCK STAR STYLE, and I am not kidding. I, too, cannot make this event because I will be in bed preparing for yet another night shift, but, the whole family would be in attendance if I were not afflicted with a JOB.

Dustin has @7 local vans that will be in attendance. We need to make a good showing here as the opportunity is just PRICELESS. I do not care if you have the Sh!tboX of all Sh!tBoXes, bring it out and meet your people. Tour one of the top wineries in our region with the lead Cellar Master hisself.....HOW COOL IS THAT?

Oh, and, I am sure, taste some of the most epic bubbly in the world. Dustin is the real deal and Please, everyone, if you can make this one, DO IT.

(sorry for the run-ons....)

I grew up @ 6 miles from his Winery. I am SO BUMMED...may have to get some sort of sick thing worked up :D

I invited my childhood friend John A, who lives up the hill from the winery Jahbah.....

If you cannot make it, spread the VWord!

so I am fairly new to portland and the samba but I own a 1986 syncro and a 1980 westy I want to find somebody in the Portland area to weld my westy roof on to my syncro. Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions, reasons i shouldn't do this or should? or even know of anybody that has done this before? I really only have time for one project and right now this seems like a fairly reasonable answer for turning two projects into one. I am fully aware there's a lot of work involved with this, but unfortunately with syncro camper prices this also seems the most affordable. let me know your thoughts.

Ashley at Allways Vdub once told me he would do the welding on a westy conversion.

ROLL CALL for this awesome opportunity/event. This is sure to be one of the best locations ever for a Westravaganza yet. A tour through Argyle Winery's facility, Food, Drink and VW's...what could beat it? Come on PDX crew. Get off your laurels and commit to this.

On that note, I work this day so I am out

Represent!
Here is the map of the location.

Hiya Sambies,

Due to the lack of free time during the summer for everyone I am going to postpone our Argyle field trip GTG until futher notice. Thanks Zest for your hard sells, but right now there are too many campfires, berryfields, gardens and music festivals. We are going to move our Mcminnville local GTG to a week night and shoot for fall time getting all yooz down here. See you all later!

If you really want to make a PDX area GTG, bookmark that topic and do whatever it takes to make it there. You will never be the same again. There are lots of other activities to do around the area if you need to sell the wife. Beach 45 minutes away. Evergreen Aircraft and Space Museum and Wings and Waves waterpark 10 minutes away/ Swimming and lots of family activities all weekend long.
The Argyle GTG will happen, probably a bit later in the year when more people can make it.
Keep checking this thread.

Now, how about PDXWesty being a Daddy 8)

carterzest Mon Jul 23, 2012 10:15 pm

Woot. Just got a call from AlaricH who is up in Washington and coming to PDX tomorrow night. Anyone interested in meeting Alaric and seeing his incredible TDI Syncro Westy, LMK. Probably just going to have dinner and hang out and talk vans at my place tomorrow night.
Also, Syncrodoka Mario is in the area as well.
Hoping we can roll out the PDX carpet for some Vanagon Syncro heavy hitters. I will keep you all in the loop.
