I have a '72 fastback and i'm trying to buy front/rear shock absorbers.
Are the front ones the same units as the rear (same as rear bug IRS)?
The part codes looks similar, only the type 3 one begins with 311 instead of 113.
Thank you. |

| OK, got it, it's not the same unit front and rear, there is a "minor" difference, the rubber "silentblocs?" in the ends of the shock are narrower on the front absorber. |

| Normally for the front I'll use bug link pin shocks. For the rear, standard IRS shocks work fine. |

Yes, the sleeve is shorter. So ask for Link-pin (53-65) Bug front shocks, or swing axle (53-68) rear shocks for the front.
I use the link pin front shocks. |
