  View original topic: Ignition tap? I need a push button starter switch

My ingnition does not want to ingage my starter, anyone know off hand which color wire i need to tap into on a 73 sqbck fi1600 manual? any words of wisdom to do this easily, had the car is in the middle of someone parklots.... :? any recomendations on switches, mounting spots, making this easy and quick

Run a wire from the + post on the battery, to a button, off the button to the spare terminal on the starter.

cn't i just jump the line that lead into the ignition, as to save from running wires all over the car then back to the dash? essitialy hot wire it with a button?

bump start it ... then take it home and repair, it the right way.

Do you know that the ignition switch is the problem?

If it's not using another switch will not solve the problem.

Yes,I did this. Run it like that. It's very practical because I have 6 volt.

There is a starter wire connection right next to the battery on a 73 FI T-3.
But why not just fix the switch. If the switch is bad, it is the same electrical as a Bug and it is very easy to get one.
