What is your 4th gear ratio? I have a .89 and can cruise at 70 mph @ 3100 rpms, that is with a 26.3 inch tire (205/70/15). I have a 75 mile round trip drive to work and back and about 30 minutes of that is on the highway.
5 speeds are pricey and need fab work to get in. Also, if it breaks, you are back to square one. |

But in the 5 speed, your 4th gear is going to be a stock gear, most likely an .89 or .84, I'm pretty sure. That's what I ask what your 4th gear ratio is. |

you need those high revs to keep your engine cool. are you running shorter than stock tires? |

With a Berg 5, you can pick any gear ratio you want. You aren't restricted to using stock gears anywhere. |

right, but in order for him to reduce his high rpm's on the highway, a stock 4th gear is best. That's what I was getting at. |

Re-read his second post. He already has a stock 4th gear.
Depending on how much hp his engine makes, he can go to a taller 4th gear. |

yeah, but after that 4th gear, he'd have a 5th... |

What speed are you going on the highway? Also, what rpm's does your tach say?
Let us know first then we can help you. :D |
