the piece of plastic that runs over the top of the gas tank in a 73 Super that is attached to fuel hose.
What is this called and is it bypassable? Mine has a slight leak. |

The light-colored thing at top right? It's a gas expansion chamber and shouldn't ever hold raw gas, only vapor. Bypassing it can cause problems in hot weather. You can patch it with epoxy or the like.
