There are frequently diagrams posted in replys that show exploded views of various components of a VW - like #71 shows the fresh air box with fan. Do they also have a description of the part names identified on the drawings? Can anyone access these?
Thanks for the clues. |

There's many website like www.bfyobsoleteparts.com and www.cip1.com that sell parts and they have these available for different sections of the car so you can be sure you are getting the correct item.
I love them because my '68 was missing a lot of things so I can look up the break down of what it needs.

They come from this site. Be warned, some knowledge of the German language is helpful... http://www.oldbeetle.com |

Yes, those are the ones. Is there anywhere that identifies the parts, other than the graphic?
The ones that Kenda mentioned are also very helpful.
Thanks |

| I haven't dug around on the site, but if you can read German there should be descriptions for the numbers. Of course there are also online tools for translating. |

pms1960 -
There are several different ways to get the illustrations and associated part information.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Number 1
The following is a sample set of instructions that I sent out last year. The sample instructions helps the reader find part number 311 127 525 Halter für Kraftstoffleitung (fuel line clip).
At the bottom of the instructions are some links to similar catalogs in English and German. However, they do not give a link to the parts listings.
Unless you read German, you can use Babelfish or Google to translate into another language. You will need to type the part names into Microsoft Word, or similar word processor that has access to special characters (like ü), and then copy the word(s) into Babelfish or Google for translation.
At first, this process may seem convoluted, but after you do it a couple of times, it should come fairly easy.
Select the following website: VW Classic Parts
Once you are at the VW Classic Parts website
From the frame on the left side of the webpage
Hauptgruppe 1 - Motor index
Select Kraftstoffleitungen (fuel pipe)
Note the clip at item no. "7" in the catalog image in the right frame.
Also from the Hauptgruppe 1 - Motor index
Select poster A6
A Parts List should open in a new window.
Scroll down to item no. "7"
Should be part number 311 127 525 Halter für Kraftstoffleitung
Literally translated to Owner for Fuel Pipe or Fuel Pipe Clip
You can also see a similar clip by selecting item 14-Fuel Line or Bild 14 Kraftstoffleitungen from the left frame of the following English or German catalogs:
English Catalog
German 1200/1300/1500 Catalog
German 1302/1303 Catalog
Note that in these catalogs item no. 7 is supplemented with "7a".

Number 2
You can also go to the following website:
Online Spare Parts Catalog for Audi/Volkswagen
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Number 3
You can also get a copy of the ETKA software from EBAY. There is a copy of the ETKA 5.0 software currently for sale.

If you just Google a part number preceded by VW it will usually work.
