hi everybody im a vw racer and the other day i saw a guy who was regulating his air/fuel mixture in his carb by turning a screw in or out... everybody else does it changing or drilling jets... what should i get to be able to do this?? the carb was an original vw one...

Its the idle mixture he is adjusting.

noop. im sure it wasnt the idle.. it was the one we all adjust by changing or drilling jets...

then its something custom or one-off.

have you seen AJ's adjust-a-jet holley carbs?

it may be something similar, just on a stock carb?

That's funny, I just mentioned an adjustible main jet earlier today in another, and for that, took a picture of one I happen to have that fits the 34 series carb. It is a one-off, I think I've only ever seen one other like it before.

34PICT-3, 34PICT-4, those are 34 series.

The main use of an adjustable idle jet would be for altitude changes depending on the carb type. Now for drag race you would want to adjust the main jet also for corrected altitude as the day changes..
