At first I was thinking that I was getting a good solid brake pump at the pedal. Then after few days the pedal stays down and it wont return. The spring is in position, the fluid is at top, and is missing the brake MC is missing the rubber boot from where the body meets the little lever that goes to the pedal.
The brakes work great as longer I pull back the pedal by hand. Do I need a new MC????
Help
Thanks is advance.

| Have you bled the system lately? Tray that first, then you can always get a Master Cylinder rebuild kit if you don't want to buy a new master cylinder. (sometimes those bolts holding the master cylinder to the firewall, will sieze and rust causing a really big projects out of a small one. |

PutsOuts,
When you say the whole assembly apart. Is that include the MC? or just bleed the whole four wheels? |

| Sounds like you have a pedal cluster that is rusted up. Take it apart and clean and lub it. |

| just the pedal assembly. theres this stuff called BLASTER that would work great for cleaning it up and it get rid of surface rust really easy. [/u] |

| The pedal is fine. I detached the connection from the MC and the spring returns fine. |

| I don't wanna sound like Mr. Obvious but, when was the las time you adjusted the shoes? My 65 has a sluggish return (single circut) and if I adjust the shoes the pedal returns to normal and the pedal is hard. Go for cheap first. |

The last time I adjusted the shoes was about two months ago. And they have been great since until two nights ago with this wierd problem.
The ebrake works fine too (but that is all cable).
I'll do a full bleed and I guess I'll be prepared for a new MC.
First, t did feel like I had a great presure and I was very happy by feeling such strong respond from the pedal. Then 2 nights ago my brake lights started to blink while driving and notice that my pedal wasn't returning smoothly. And, last night the pedal just wont return to rest position, I have to pull it back by hand & still getting good stop on top of all that. So the fluid has good pressure to the brake cilinders. |
