I am looking to pick up a 75 std betle with FI, and depending of the systems condition I was thinking of switching to carbs. I currently have some 34 PDSIT from my 72 1700 bus, and I was wondering if they might fit on the bug. Any ideas out there?

Many will say keep the FI. I dont know why. Waiting for those things to crap out doesnt sound like that much fun. My 75 standard was converted to carb, and I have a bug thats reliable, easy to work on and plenty of cheap parts available.

Out of curiosity...why don't you just fix the FI?
It seems much simpler to me. |

Keep in mind that you can troubleshoot the FI system for cheap money.

Wifes car is a 75 with fi my first experience with it. While it may not be as peppy as a carbed car, it runs the same everyday regardless of weather or temps just runs like a watch.

Easy enough to go to duals. If you go single carb you'll have to change the rear tin and the exhaust to accommodate (spelling) the heat risers. And you do need those. Also you need to jump two connections in the FI harness and i can't remember which ones. If needed i can look at mine.
