Finally got a fuel pump for my 72 Fastback. I replaced all of the front hoses with the pump but the hoses in the engine compartment still looked good.

Tried to start the car for the first time. The engine would turn over but the car wouldn't start. I tried a little starting fluid in the intake. The car started and ran for about 10 seconds before it died. I tried it a couple more times with the same result.

I examined the engine compartment and noticed all of the hoses were wet. The braided fuel line appeared to be "sweating" the fuel. The fuel lines didn't look bad, but I guess they were decayed enough to let this happen.

I am hoping new fuel lines will fix the problem, but knowing my luck it will be an injector or something else.

Hang in there buddy. Just think, the more you fix now, the less you'll have to do later
