View original topic: N Series Notch Trim

Over the years the 1963 N series notch I have has been repainted and I think lost some of the trim. While I recognize that the N series was a "stripped" model I can't help but think that there should be something on it besides the bumpers and the VW emblem on the hood. Theres no rocker trim or even a 1500 emblem on the back. Any info or photos of a 63 N series would be a great help.

Thanks guys!

'63s are not Ns or stripped down, they are just 63s. There was only 1 model. N is 64-65 and 63s have more stuff than a N-model.

Here's what it should have:

Bumpers + rocker trim + emblems on back lid.

Sounds like you have had a bunch of holes filled.

Actually according to my birth cert. the model is listed as a 315, 1500A. It was built the 28th of October 1963 and left the factory on the 29th. I was told by Gizmobob of the 1500 Club that it was an N series. Mine does not have a passenger side key lock and zero trim. Unless the holes were filled in it never had any chrome strips down the sides or side markers and no rocker chrome. Any idea where I can locate the 1500 trunk emblem?

you have a 64 then. October of 63 is a 1964 model year

Yes, you have a '64.

The "Volkswagen" and "1500" emblems can often be found on the classifieds here. Keep an eye out.

Looking at this brochure

N models still had rocker chrome.
