I spun the rod bearing on #2. I have VW-journalled 5.5" H-beam pushrods and a 82 mm counterweighted crank. It looks like the crank had counterweights welded on. I will post some pictures tomorrow.
My questions are:
1) Should I resurface the rod journal or invest in a new crank? CIP has 82mm forged 4340 Chromoly cranks for ~$230.
2) Can I replace just the #2 rod or must the rods be replaced as a set?

| Any quality crankshaft can be reconditioned.If you can find one replacement rod for your engine, go for it.Just make sure it's wieght balanced to the same values as the other 3. |
