I'm looking to replace some parts inside my origional 64 transmission. The 4th gear syncro's are shot in it.. I was thinking about building it up a little to hold the power of my 2276.
Are there any good websites that show the breakdown of these transmissions or any how to guides? |

The Bentley manuals have a complete chapter on rebuilding a stock tranny. Gene Breg Technical articles has some detailed info on building a performance box. Long enterprises has a CD for rebuilding.
You can't rebuild a trany with your Craftsman tools. You need about $500 in speciality tools and jigs. It is cheaper to buy a gearbox from a tranny specialist. |

Unless you plan on getting a return on your investment by building boxes for other people, hint hint. :D |

You set aside your original gearbox and locate a later one, then build that one. There are many parts you need to upgrade your 64 gearbox you get from later gearboxes, so you might as well start with the later one. |
