I am trying to determine my options for installing higher end non-original seats (driver and passenger) in my '78 bay window. Are there any viable options? Do Vanagon seats fit as a direct install? Are there brackets available to interface with the stock body rail that can be bolted to higher end aftermarket seats?
Thanks |

| Vanagon seats are the only direct replacement. The problem with most aftermarket seats, outside of no way to mount them, is their height. |

| The P.O. mounted some new rails and Honda seats. They sit higher than stock. More comfortable though. |

I don't know if ProCar are high end (i'm assuming not), but i really like them. The po put them in. They sit a little higher, but it's not really noticeable. it appears these use the same rails, but not sure.

If they have photos of vw's on their site, you would think that they make them so you don't have to mod the tracks.
p.s. this comes up once in a while. it would be worth a search to find more info |

HELLOOOO ELLENSBURG!
Ahh how I miss The Burg. Raised there since I was a WEE lad. Miss fly fishing on the Yak, miss getting piss drunk at the Tav, miss the taco wagon tacos. Small world indeed
My bus is a 72. My mom lives on capitol. Maybe you saw it out there? Drove that bastard from Ellensburg to Boston last summer... about 5000 miles all together. |

Vanagon seats work on late 74 and up Buses. Those of us with early bays would need to change the seat tracks. |
