Hey all, I'm looking pretty seriously at a Split Window right now that according to the current owner the PO lowered by pulling out some torsions. Are there any places I should inspect for damage because of this? Is fixing this as simple as replacing the torsion bars or might there be other issues?

I wouldnt think there would be anything you'd need to check for damage as such. Other than maybe if the dampers have been bottoming out. Ideally the bars need putting back to stock. I think that was a common way of lowering back before all the current methods were available. I would've thought the only change other than ride height would be a softer ride....

My bus was lowered by removing some of the torsion leaves before I got it....It also has drop spindles so that doesn't make sense...guess they put them on later w/o replacing the leaves. Anyways, when I replaced mine the only damage I found was the missing leaves, obviously, and the grub screws in the center of each stack were gone. Basically they were just held in by the grub screws on the trailing arms =/ What were they thinking = l
