PICTURE 1

Or PICTURE 2

So i pulled off the Drum with my new tool I made. I then replaced all the parts, but it did not have the E brake hooked up before i started so no reference.

Which is the correct way to route it ?
Logic says picture 2 but want to be sure :P

ANYTHING else that looks screwed up please let me know :)

picture #1 is the correct way.
and your lower spring looks f*cked up, as in the coil on the left side is all boogered up.
and i could probably guess two other things you may be missing.

It's not the fit on the brake shoes, it's the fact that it's worn out. You probably should replace it with another spring. If you don't have a spare I could send you one.

it *might* look a bit less f*cked up if the left "hook" of the spring were straightened out, and not pointing downward.

I have another drum with a spring ill switch to that one if it doesnt straighten out .

Thanks for the help guys !

umm, it is not going to magically straighten out by itself. you need to grip it with a pair of pliers and move it.

do you have this clip installed?

and what about the clip on the lower spring to spreader bar

What does that little clip in the top picture do and what side of the backing plate does it go on ? the inside ?

i dont have that spring retainer clip is it super necessary would a tie wrap work temporary ? or just go wihout ?

the clip, which goes inside of the backing plate, gives the ebrake cable spring something to push against when you pull & release the ebrake lever.

the lower clip, well, you decide if it is important. VW put it there in the first place, but i know you will not be the first one to run without them.

oh, it also looks like you reused the clip on the pin for the ebrake lever arm, and it looks cracked. why didn't you put new ones on, they are super inexpensive, and if the old one breaks, you're gonna have a mess in there.
