Does anyone know a distributor for these (64-up). UPS wants $200+ brokerage fees to bring these to Canada and thats on top of there outrageous shipping charges! I would also like to know if there is a US distributor that would ship USPS as the don't charge outrageous brokerage fees.
Thanks for any help
Richard

Who did you order it from?

UPS is the Brown Devil.
A guy from Cali shipped me a door handle, misread my instructions and sent UPS instead of USPS. UPS wanted $35 brokerage fee for a $25 door handle (that was on top of the $22 shipping fee!!!). Talk about bend over!
Your best bet is to get it sent USPS. If they absolutely will not ship USPS, ask about UPS Priority Air. I believe that "includes" brokerage fees upfront.

There are parts houses that have made deals with the devil and will only ship UPS.
CB for example - good stuff, but I can't buy anything from them because they will only ship UPS and I will not support those criminal bastards.
Incidently, for you Canadians that need CB parts - VW Parts Unlimited carries alot of CB stuff and will ship USPS.

edit

This has been a hot topic of discussion north of the border.
I'm wondering if we should have a thread on the NUTS site that lists US distributors, their specialties and their shipping preferences.

Thanks for the reply... missed you at GCVWS. I have not ordered it yet, UPS is the worst international shipping company ever! The companies only seem to want to ship these UPS which with shipping makes it an $800US part!

I'll ship it to you....

what's with the need for the rear safari? You get a little warm driving to and from the GCVWS dubsport. You were running with the fronts open weren't you???

I second the point that we missed you RiffRaff.

... gets the air flowing in the 38 degree weather. Nice meeting you Todd! 18 hours each way and 1800 miles round trip... I need a larger engine and straight axle conversion.

CIP1.CA has a rear safari kit for 55-63 (since it is most likely a Wolfgang kit, why not ask them if they can get the WG 64 & up kit?)

http://www.cip1.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ACC%2DC20%2D1015

Quote: Many Canadian customers do not know that Cip1.ca / Cip1.com / California Import Parts LTD. is a 100% Canadian owned and operated! We have been doing business from British Columbia, Canada for over 27 years. Since we are based in Canada, you do not have to worry about extra import duties, taxes, or brokerage that you get when ordering from the USA. You only have to pay the GST or HST, and in British Columbia, the PST.
With the launch of this new Canadian website, all Canadian web orders will be processed and charged in Canadian Dollars, the exact amount of your website total will be the amount charged to your credit card in Canadian dollars and your C/C statement will show this exact Canadian dollar amount.

being north of the border i can't help but chime in

simply put i don't do business with companies that insist on shipping from the US using UPS and their crazy "brokerage fees" (aka "miscellaneous profit margin") .

Do a bit of digging and you should be able to find smaller shops that will send stuff via USPS. Ronnie at type2 parts has done this before me in the past...

Talk to Westside. They can have stuff brought in.

Already talked to them as they are one of my dealers... they frown upon special orders. Thanks for the heads up though!
