yes ive searched but nothing has really answered my questions. my passenger mirror sags. i do have the washer, but when i go to tighten the nut, it tightens and then loosens (that make sense?) it will almost have the mirror so it wont move and then it will just sag again. i dont know how to replace it or get the mirror out of the door, but im guessing i have to take the plastic off the inside of the door. i really need to get this fixed, as i have a 69 westy and its scary making lane changes with the "early westy blind spot". thanks everybody.

If by "sag" you mean the mirror stalk spins on it's vertical axis, that would probably be the spring washer item #10 and/or the nut, item #11, which are about the only things that can wear, the nut is probably stripped in which case you are screwed, or the mirror stalk is stripped, in which case you are screwed.

If by "sag" you mean the mirror will not stay in place on it's perpendicular axis to the mirror stalk, and you adjust it tight (if you can) and it still moves after you move the bus, it can't be fixed.

If by "sag" you mean the mirror stalk rotates around the horizontal axis, you need to tighten the nut, item #12, inside the door, which means you have to remove the door panel, yes.

In either of the first two cases, I think you need a new mirror. In the third case, you need to stop guessing and trust your instincts, and maybe find out what ETKA is so you don't have to guess anyMORE.

The threads in the door are stripped. You can remove the mirror from the out side of the door. For a quick fix use some Loc-Tite on the mirrow threads and tighten it until you feel it snug. Stop before you go to far and reloosen it. If you order new mirrors they will flap in the wind. Very carefully tighten the bottom mirror nut. This will further compress the inner spring. Be careful though. The mirror housing is pot metal and if you get to zealous with tightening the lower nut it will snap off.
