Well after 14 hrs of driving 1000+ miles and meeting Steve (Grim Reaper), by the way a very nice guy, I have a new project in my shop. Thanks Steve for the sale and it was really nice to meet you. So differant from just bsing on here. The trip back home seemed to take forever as we decided to go through White pass and avoid the Seattle mayhem on the freeway during the 5 pm rush hour. Plus was able to stop in Yakima and pick up a few boxes of fresh fruit. So, I now have my stables full. The purchase today completes the set I was building. This OE 60 SC is a beaut.... The yellow paint that is over the Dove Blue is a single layer that easily scratches off with just a finger nail. A few ruff spots body and rear gate wise but over all it's solid and pretty rust free. Here's a feew pics I took today .....Thanks Steve, it's perfect.

After getting it up on the lift today and giving it a good look over along with my best freind who is our local restoration Guru, I believe this one might have to stay as original as I can keep it yet practical for a daily driver. As it sits, everything about it is original except the safari's and the 1600dp engine that I am going to stuff in it this week. It does need the upper rear deck replaced as it has already been removed. I have contacted Gerson on the replacement. The front beam is in excellant shape, very tight and driveable. The rocker under the treasure chest door needs replacement the drivers side rocker and the lower treasure chest floor has recently been replaced and the job well done. The yellow and brown paint is a single thin layer over the dove blue and does come off with just a finger nail but because of the passenger door and primered areas that have been replaced I think that shes deserves a complete repaint which will happen next year. I believe I will get the engine installed and button it up for a driver through this winter and putts on some small body repair during this period. The gates are in pretty good shape, no deep rust issues but the rear gate has some passenger side upper corner damage that would not straighten out well so i will be looking for one that is only good for grafting that area from. Also there was some damage to the passenger rear corner which my freind says will require some metal replacement but not an entire lower corner, just a small fabrication of that area. Over all this is a very solid truck, it came from a dry area and was obviously cared for, The underside still retains it's oe paint, the heater tube is still wrapped in it's oe blanket and the e-brake cables are the oe kind that still have the grease fittings and are still in great condition. I will be keeping an eye open for a rear bumper, also thinking of buying a hurst for the front. The interior panels are a bit warped but are whole and even have the door cubbies intact. The odometer reads 74000 and I wouldn't doubt that because it was a company truck for a hardware store it could be accurate. That's also why it was kept dry, parked in the shop after hours? It was stored dry for about 15 years.

Hey Keith, we've got a '59-'60 truck bumper here if you're interested. It's pretty ugly, but for what it is maybe you guys can make it work.

Thanks Greg, do you have a pic of it? The front bumper on the truck is in really good shape. You wouldn't have a rear gate that is trashed except for the top area?

I'll send you a PM with the pics. It's rough, but maybe Damon can fix it. Sorry, no gates to use for parts.
