While searching the forum it appears that most of the pre72's had an aluminum track with sliding hooks of sorts to hold the curtain in place.

In my 73, I only have an aluminum track that is built just like the other type of curtain rods in the bus. My question is, is this the correct sliding curtain rod for a '73, and how did the bottoms of the curtain fasten?

Yes, 72-73 (and later models) used the same track as the other windows. It had an open hem on top slipped over the track and elastic in the bottom with a small plastic ring on each end that attached to cup hooks on the closet and bulkhead.

Thanks Busdaddy. Any idea if the curtain for the sliding door was one long piece or two of the normal size pieces like the other side windows.

I purchased some used curtains a few years back and have most of them installed but I have one long piece that had elastic on the ends. At first I though it would have been for the front windshield, but it has no snaps on it.

[EDIT] The long piece is 56" in length.

Sounds like the slider curtain, they were one piece, no snaps. The windshield curtain is around 9' long and has 4 snaps.

I bet it is. I found a hole on the cabinet next to the closet door that probably had the hook in it and also on the bulkhead between the sink and the pass seat.. Any ideas on the kinds of hooks that were used for the elastic of the slider curtain?

Sounds like the holes for them, the hooks looked like this http://www.stanleyhardware.com/default.asp?CATEGOR...9+Cup+Hook except with a white vinyl coating, time for a trip to Home depot.

Sweet. I think I have a few in my handy dandy HARDWARE marked storage bin. If not, oh my, what do we have here.....honey, did you know you were missing two white vinyl hooks in the cupboard? :lol:
