I have a 1960 double cab, no engine and missing the part that goes under the rear seat(pedestal). some broken windows. original paint nothing cut. some rust under the rear door and rocker area on the bottom below the driver rear window. other then that very solid body. the rust in the rockers looks like an easy fix. also hit at the rear door but looks repaiable. other then that prett straight vehicle. paint on the inside is pretty nice(kind of a burnt red) was trying to figure out about what it may be worth?
thanks
for the help

Look at the comps. in ad section and go from there. Pictures would be nice?

If past threads of this type are any indicator, it's worth less than you think it is.

i will try to post a few pics later tonight, just wondering what this may actually be worth, i see stuff on here but who knows if it sells for anything like what they're asking

Busses on here sell. The really special ones never make it to the classifieds, they change hands discreetly, lots of German steel goes back across the pond.

sucks! i went to germany and I saw one baywindow, lots of vanagones.

i feel we deserve the buses that have survived over here whether sitting or being driven all these years.

Pics would help.

My new rule of thumb is to take anything that has been in the Classifieds and deduct 10% for every 2 weeks it has been for sale, up to a maximum of 50%. :P

It's early - a plus
missing pedestal - minus, hard to find
not cut - plus
typical rust - usually worse than it looks
hit - usually worse than it looks

But we all want the pics!

now playing in the classifieds near you: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=654167

Not horrible.
dash is nice!
forward shifter, high hinge DC, in partly OG paint (Sealing Wax Red)
has gates, readio block off, emblem.
missing taillights, rear bumper, etc.

Do you have a title?
To find the manufacture date and specs, look here:

I think it's worth at least $20.

LET THE SKY HIGH PRICES AND BIDDING BEGIN $15000.00 ANYONE

IN2RUST Thu Aug 21, 2008 9:12 pm

From the looks of this double cab, what would be a realistic price?
