The shift button makes capital letters on the screen in front of you...
I'm kidding.
Was the tranny recently installed... were the three dogs lined up in the nose-cone? (Not sure that this would cause the brick wall syndrome.)
Reverse lock-out plate in backwards?
Nose-cone mount broken and the trans is sagging in the front?(shouldn't this be solid?)
Shift coupler not securely attached to the shift-rod, hockey stick?
Clutch not adjusted enough to get into third/fourth?
Remember... you asked for ideas only, that's what these are. |

If it's a nice rebuilt transmission then it is for sure a front mount problem.
Time to pull it all back out. Get under there and see if it is tilted down. |

Shouldn't the shifter in the cab be straight, like this?

Also, please post a better photo of the assembly under the cab floor. You might have to jack the bus off the ground to get a clear shot.....that photo is taken too close to see what's going on. |

Could be alot of things, or a combination of alot of things. From the really blurry under cab shot, it looks like your reverse lockout plate is in 180 degrees off. That's probably your problem with 3rd and 4th. |

Is the shifter and shift rod original to the bus?
How is the bushing on the front shift rod carrier? |

| A bad bushing and if that carrier has been bent could cause that problem. It happened to me. |
