Thanks guys! I will work on those taillights soon. I miss my Sedan scale 1:1 a lot!

Washed it and cleaned her up a bit, going to a VW meet tonight in San Diego, so I wanted her to look her best (for now).

Started for the first time this year. Need to move it to the my shop so I can install my front air ride! I am getting excited to install it!!! Bring on the nice weather!!

Took it for a smog test...and it passed (eventually). Got the 'Out of State' inspection at the DMV as well, since the car has never been registered in Nevada.

Not enough time to wait at the DMV to get it tagged though.

installed the new oil cooler today and put it all back together and running after breaking the generator stand and sending fan blades through the old one.....

replaced ball joints in eldest's 74 standard. After a moment (quite a while) of thinking they didn't fit- sanity took over and realized I was being stupid.

so, got trailing arms with new balljoints already pressed in installed, bled the brakes, now just waiting to get alignment checked.

installed tmi charcoal carpet kit in my 71 SB

Got two of my freshly painted wheels on tonight. I only ordered two tires at the moment since I wasn't sure if I would have clearance in the front for the size I wanted in the rear. They are 195/65/R15 tires, and I installed them on the front first to see if they would clear all right.

They will, so now I've just got to order two more tires and slap them on! And buy nicer looking lug bolts, lol.

After I get all four brand new tires and wheels on, I'll see how much I can lower the car without worrying about rubbing issues. I don't want it slammed but I don't want it looking lifted either.

Rebuilt my 30pict 3 carb!! fun fun fun and I did not get greasy :D

ANSAracingb Sun Mar 28, 2010 12:30 pm

Changed my oil, checked my valve adjustment, put some Mother's polish on my new (to me) wheels. Apparently my g/f took a couple pics while I was letting the oil drain:

Sorry you had to see my ugly mug! Lol

Later today, I think I may start sanding down the replacement fender I have and get it ready to paint. I'm sick and tired of looking at my damaged car, and the insurance company STILL has not helped me out financially for their client's mistake.

Yesterday I helped a friend with a tranny swap.

Swapping nose cones. The car is a 74 and the new tranny was a 72.

Those are words to live by. Glenn, you sure back that up day in and day out on this site.

That's what seperates the VW community from the rest.

Engine compartment POR'd and ready for some sound deadening. Stuck about 250lbs of fertilizer in the front end to check the clearance of my new 8 spokes with 185 60's. Pretty much can't do anything else, clock is running close on getting my car into paint.

Macaroni Sun Mar 28, 2010 7:11 pm

Painted the wheels and swapped out the bumpers for some t-bars. Also replaced the fuel gauge sending unit...

Not so much today, but over the last week I have finished my shock tower extensions so that I can lay beam. I then took it the VolksWorld Show where it was on display on The Old Volks Club stand.
