Well I've been lurking around the past couple weeks searching around and reading posts and figured it was time to say hey

2 weeks ago I picked up a 67 Beetle it needs some work as it's been sitting for 8 years so far it's been a love hate relationship but I wouldn't give it up for anything. I've been having a hell of a time getting it to idle right and figure out where the hell the oil leak is coming from but it's getting there. I'm planning on pulling the engine soon and installing new gaskets I've already cleaned out the gas tank, replaced all fuel lines, changed engine oil, rebuilt the carb, battery, plugs, wires, distributor, and inline fuel filter. I also removed the cheap rusted euro bumpers and cut off the quad exhaust. . . . The 5th pic shows the sweet a$$ pair of panties I found in the car :)

Nice panties! Welcome aboard, some of the most knowledegable people in the indutry are on these forums, so any answers you need are to be found here! The Bug looks to be in pretty decent shape after sitting for 8 years.
Love your part of the US, I visited The Fayetteville (sp.?) area 2 years ago and stayed at the U of A for a week. Can't wait to get back for another visit!

Please don't ask "what parts are incorrect on my 1967 Beetle" unless you really want to know. nice drivers side fender by the way.

I've already gone through the "School me on the 1967 one year only stuff
" topic and I've seen many original 67's. I knew most of it wasn't original before I bought it

since you asked. the drivers side fender is not german.

Montgomery Sun Aug 24, 2008 10:30 am

Oh well I kinda figured neither of the front fenders were OG

HerrrKafer Sun Aug 24, 2008 10:40 am

Well while we're at it... get rid of those chromies on the front! :-&

But seriously, welcome. Looks like you're on the right track to making it a great driver.
